Two master architects of the 20th century passed away in 2008 and 2009, respectively, Jørn Utzon and Sverre Fehn. Both are considered as legitimate successors of the Scandinavian modernists. This issue features their last works, documented through colour photographs and accompanying technical drawings. Alongside, Kim Utzon talks about his collaboration with his father on the Utzon Centre and Thomas McQuillan writes about the legacy of Fehn’s influence on a younger generation of architects. The issue also includes nine recent architectural projects undertaken in Denmark and Norway which are introduced by two essays which together examine how the tradition of Scandinavian architecture has evolved in the footsteps of Utzon and Fehn. Projects featured include: Jensen & Skodvin’s Landscape Hotel, Sverre Fehn’s National Museum – Architecture, Oslo, and Henning Larsen Architects’ Opera in Copenhagen located on a key site in the city’s harbour area
